The ongoing violence that people direct at one another is a never-ending cycle. Dhammapada: not by enmity is enmity quelled. To create peace between people I need to cultivate a state of mind that is non-violent and morally sound. The fear that I will somehow lose money, power, prestige, opportunity, based on the hatred of others if I don't respond with hatred is a lie. As a believer God commands me to have faith in the power of God to sustain me.

Psalm 91:2-7 I will say of the LORD, "He is my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and und his wings you will find refuge. His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror by night or the arrow that fleis by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your hand, but it will not come near you.

I do not need to be afraad and therefore angry because God is sufficient to carry me through any hardship or difficulty. I can be free from violence because God can protecct me and I have no need to defend myself. My faith is sufficient defense.
